It was attended by 279 young athletes from 15 countries in Europe, Asia, Africa and South America. And of course, the Belarusian Peace Foundation could not stay away from such a significant event!
For seven days, participants identified the strongest on the stocktack board in the classic tournament and the “blitz”. As a result of a stubborn and interesting struggle, the world champions in the “classics” were the representatives of Belarus, Lithuania, Russia, China, the Netherlands and Mongolia. The chief judge of the competition was Bartosh Sokha (Poland), the main secretary was Vitaly Anisko (Belarus).
250 young athletes took part in the classic tournament, in the “blitz” – 279. As is usually the case, the most representative delegation was the hostess of the tournament – Belarus. It consists of 57 athletes, 44 of them participated in the “classics”. Representatives of the Gomel school of drafts were 14 people, 10 of them took part in the classic tournament. The best results in the Gomel team were brought by Maxim Levchenko, Inga Barashko and Sergey Astapov. In addition to Minsk and Gomel, representatives of drafts schools from Maryina Gorki, Bobruisk, Vitebsk, Grodno, Slonim and Zhodino played in the championship.
At the solemn closing ceremony of the tournament, the participants of the championship were greeted and congratulated by the chairman of the Gomel regional branch of the Belarusian Peace Foundation, Timofey Ivanovich Glushakov. The chief judge of the competition Bartosz Sokha from Poland and the youngest competitors from Nideland from Belarus were awarded with memorable souvenirs of the World Foundation.
