And one of the most horrific pages in the history of the war is the tragedy of Khatyn, which occurred 75 years ago. And in order to honor the memory of the Khatyn martyrs and residents of all villages burned by the aggressors during the war, with the support of the Oktyabrskaya district organization of the Grodno branch of the “Belarusian Peace Foundation”, a regional quiz “Among the schoolchildren of Oktyabrsky district of Grodno” “They shared the fate of Khatyn”. The organizers of the quiz were also the Oktyabrskaya district organization of the Grodno branch of the Belarusian public association of veterans, the education, sports and tourism department of the administration of the Oktyabrsky district of Grodno, the state institution “Educational and methodical office of Oktyabrsky district of Grodno” and the BRSM of the Oktyabrsky district committee of Grodno. The theme of the Khatyn tragedy did not leave anyone indifferent: neither students, nor teachers of the district’s educational institutions. More than 60 students from all the schools and gymnasiums of the district took part in the quiz, which impressed the judges with their profound knowledge of these tragic events. And this is correct, because history needs to be remembered so that it does not recur. On March 22, the day of the Khatyn tragedy, on the basis of the “Secondary School No. 3 named after VM Usov”, the results of the regional quiz “They divided the fate of Khatyn” took place. Among the guests of honor of the event were Salyasyuk Wilhelm Stepanovich, a veteran of the Great Patriotic War, a winner of the Book of Fame in Grodno; Sudakova Zinaida Timofeevna, veterans of the Great Patriotic War, participant of the fighting for the liberation of Grodno, and Bermislav Ermashkevich, member of the Writers’ Union of Belarus, deputy chairman of the Grodno regional branch of the Union of Writers of Belarus. The young generation was approached by Grinckevich Zhanna Anatolievna, the chairman of the regional organization “Belarusian Peace Foundation” in Grodno, with an appeal for the preservation of peace, the importance and necessity of the creative activity of every citizen for the benefit of the native people and the country, brutal lessons in history that should not be repeated . The chairman of the Oktyabrsky district organization of veterans of Grodno of the Belarusian public association of veterans Vladimir Tyotnyunnik also spoke at the event. The participants of the event paid a minute of silence to the memory of all those who died during the Great Patriotic War. Winners of the quiz were awarded with diplomas and valuable gifts from the Belarusian Peace Foundation, the Belarusian Public Association of Veterans and the Belarusian Republican Youth Union.
