A meeting-requiem for the burnt down Belarusian village, whose name became a household name for all settlements that divided its fate, gathered in the park named after Zhiliber in Grodno near the monument to soldiers and partisans who died during the Great Patriotic War, government officials, public organizations, clergy, the youth. The participants of the requiem meeting laid flowers and wreaths to the monument. – The tragedy of Khatyn among the many mourning events of the Great Patriotic War has always occupied a special place. No geographical map has a settlement with this name, but the whole world knows about it. Khatyn is a monument to all peaceful inhabitants of Belarus, who died in those terrible years. We must always remember the tragic events of those days and never allow them to happen again, “said Boris Fyodorov, chairman of the Grodno City Council of Deputies. Activists of the “Belarusian Peace Foundation”, all of whom are not indifferent to the history of their homeland, also took part in a sad but very important rally. On the same day, the Belarusian Peace Foundation together with the veteran organization on the basis of the secondary school No. 3 in Grodno hosted a quiz for schoolchildren, dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the tragedy in Khatyn. Nobody is forgotten. Nothing is forgotten.
