On April 19, an extended meeting of the Bureau of the Board of the Belarusian Peace Foundation took place in Minsk, in which the chairmen of the regional and Minsk city departments, as well as the members of the board of the Belarusian Peace Foundation took part.
The meeting was held on the basis of the Minsk State College of Electronics, as on that day the opening of a high-tech laboratory for mechatronics for the training of persons with psychophysical development features was held at the educational institution, with the support of the Belarusian Peace Foundation.
After solving all procedural issues, the first idea submitted for discussion was the proposal to assign the status of the “College of Peace” to the Minsk State College of Electronics. The College of Electronics was awarded to them for their tireless work for the benefit of the world and for close cooperation with the Belarusian Peace Foundation. It should be noted that this is the first institution of this type in Belarus that received this status.
The second issue on the agenda was the discussion of the results of the meeting of the Chairman of the Board of the Belarusian Peace Foundation Maxim Misko with the leadership of the China Association for Peace and Disarmament. Based on the results of the report, it was decided to arrange a return visit of the delegation of the Chinese People’s Association for Peace and Disarmament to Belarus.
The third important issue was the consideration of the main programs, activities and tasks of the Belarusian Peace Foundation for 2018. They included such well-known events and actions as “Give FIVE Good”, “Always in Memory, Forever Forever”, “We Praise a Man of Peaceful Work”, “Dear MAMA”, “Child of Peace”, as well as the “Network schools of peace in the Republic of Belarus “and the publication of the Bulletin of the Belarusian Peace Foundation.
New tasks for the Belarusian Peace Foundation were also discussed, such as the contest of poems “The Happiness of Living in a Peaceful Country” and the subsequent publication of the book “Children for Peace” – poems; start of the competition for making a sketch of the statuette “Symbol of peace – Belarus”; receipt by the Belarusian Peace Fund of observer status in the ECOSOC at the United Nations.
